Monday 9th May 2022
WEEKLY DISCUSSION - WEEK 11
We are coming up to the end of Phase 3 - the development/deployment phases, and soon entering the launch/final review Phase 4! It's now week 11 and we are on track to completing the game by the 26th May. Today, we are scheduled to discuss last weeks progress and talk next steps for this week, according to our schedule. (Attached below)
WEEK 11 - TEAM DISCUSSION
Monday 9th May
Purpose for Discussion:
Progress check, discuss last week and to do list for the upcoming week.

NOTES:
-
Last week, we gathered a good amount of response from our playtesting session and have a list of things we need to change/improve on to overcome these issues.
-
Last week, stickers arrived and we love them!
-
Kiera to speak with Sid tomorrow, to discuss next steps with bird animation and getting the UI to work. (Begin button)
-
Last week I updated our itch.io site which is published and live.
-
Kiera is still working on the BitShort.Studio site - this has to be done this week.
-
We tested the setup for the space last week with a new projector and evaluated how we would use it for our game.
-
Need to get into contact with Dave Gibbons regarding which ones we'd like to borrow - SANYO & VIVITEK Short Throw projectors.
-
Achieved our fifth game version, we now have the game working across two servers! All we need to do is get a server running online, either our own domain or just itch.io.
-
I have finished the majority of our documentary, waiting for the last few gameplay clips - in need of space setup.
-
This week, we have to focus on getting animation assets into the environment to further develop the visual design - after discussion with Sid.
-
Must also prepare for our presentation on the 16th May - can make this tomorrow.
-
This week to carry on playtesting, gathering feedback to make improvements and changes.
-
Use existing panels/walls to create a mockup of the space, project gameplay and get clips for trailer and documentary.

EVALUATION & REFLECTION
WHAT WENT WELL?
We gathered some great results from our playtesting days last week and have a healthy number of changes to make to further develop gameplay. Last week, we tested another projector and now have a suitable setup set in stone for the degree shows which we can tick off our high priority list. In addition to this, we have our fifth game version complete and are on track to completion! I also finished the majority of the documentary, and am just waiting on the last few gameplay clips once we have our setup arranged appropriately.

WHAT DIDN'T GO WELL?
The refinement of our animations are a little past their deadline and we still have to import these into the environment. This includes the bird animation, cloud loop and ski lift animation. After we import these, our desired environment design will be complete! In order to get this done successfully, Kiera has been in contact with Sid to guide us on this and hopefully have this setup by Tuesday 10th May. As well as this, Kiera is still working on the BitShort.Studio site, which should be complete this week, so we can use this as further promotional material. From playtesting, we received a few comments regarding the wrist detection which we know needs adjusting, so we aim to have this improved by the end of this week.

CHANGES WE HAVE TO MAKE THIS WEEK/NEXT STEPS:
We are working according to schedule, but have had to schedule in a few additional tasks for this week to make rapid changes and improvements. This won't affect the overall timetable too much and between us I believe we can get these things done by the end of Week 11. We are scheduled to continue playtesting and gather responses from testers to make final flourishes and improvements, especially with the interaction method, as this seems to be the biggest limitation at the moment. To begin the week, I will be preparing our game presentation for the 17th to get this out the way.
