Monday 18th April 2022

EASTER WEEK 3 -

TO DO: DOCUMENT PROGRESS WITH SOUND PRODUCTION

PURPOSE FOR TODAY

I have received another email from Harry regarding the next version of the soundtrack which I am excited to hear and discuss next steps with him.

GOALS FOR THE DAY

The goal for today is to evaluate the sound of the track so far and respond with opinions, feedback and improvements if they are needed.

NOTES

  • Composition works with a rough 5.1 surround sound mix.

  • Needs access to system to do this properly.

  • Has attached each layer separately to allow us to test and assemble each one.

  • Composition consists of 6 layers.

  • Piano, flute, cello, stacstring, bass and "environmental sounds".

  • 70 BPM

  • Piano and environmental has to be the first 2 layers played.

  • The rest of the tracks/layers can be played in any order and will still sound good!

  • Will achieve a 10 minute length once put together. The end is designed to loop back to the beginning.

(Track file too large to attach so I will put them in a sharepoint)

NOTES

We have planned to arrange a meeting in person when we are back at University to organise setting up the Surround Sound system. As we are missing a few moving parts to get this setup, we need to think about how we will sort this.

It'll be great to meet with Harry to show him what we have so far, and hopefully by this time, we should have implemented the different tracks into the different game versions.

NEXT STEPS

Our next steps will be to begin Week 9 when we return to campus on the 25th April. We will continue working alongside our original schedule and begin our tasks according to this methodology.
