Sound Production
Saturday 9th-13th April 2022
EASTER WEEK 3 -
TO DO: DOCUMENT PROGRESS WITH SOUND PRODUCTION

PURPOSE FOR TODAY
I have just received an email from our Sound Designer Harry Williams regarding updates with Sound Production! Today will be a great day to review this and respond with any feedback/suggestions for change. Using what he has provided, I can forward on samples of music to both James and Kiera to implement this into the game and progress with the programming for this.

GOALS FOR THE DAY
Document music samples provided by Harry Williams, provide feedback or general comments, respond with necessary information.

NOTES
-
Sent Piano Wind and other environmental sounds
-
Sent a draft for multiple layers named "FULL" - this is 4 layers of different instruments.
-
Needs mixing and metering.
-
BPM sits at a resting heart rate.
-
Player enters the space and environmental sound plays alone, with the piano coming in with the first objected - love this idea.
-
Plan is to finish composition by the 16th and mastering around 20th.
-
Need to organise a meeting in person to discuss Surround Sound.
"FULL" - 4 layers of track SAMPLE
EVALUATION
-
2 other attachments are too large to attach to my site, however, they sound perfectly fine and do not require any changes.
-
As for the soundtrack, love how it sounds.
-
Would like to hear more layering, can make it sound more full.
-
Different layers will allow us to input different tracks into the server, and align this with the collection of objects accordingly.
-
I don't like the sound of the 'heart beat' almost, sounds a little off putting. Similar to an alarm. Will suggest to take this out.
EMAIL RESPONSE
12/04/2022
I informed him that we were happy with the track so far and gave him a few tips regarding how we can make it better. I also let him know about the issues with the surround sound system and said we will organise a day for us to meet and discuss how we go about this.

NOTES
-
Will adjust the high frequency and repitition to avoid it sounding alarm-like.
NEXT STEPS FOR SOUND
We'll wait for Harry to respond with his next iteration of the soundtrack and go from here. Next meeting Kiera and I have with James, we can discuss exactly how to input the sound into the program and do this ourselves. For now, we will continue with asset creation which we are on track to complete by the 13th April.
